Rajakumari, a Tamil serial on Sun TV prime time, with actress Ramya Krishnan in the lead role, is likely to be wound up by the channel shortly, sources said. Ace director, C J Baskar who gave such hits as Chithi and Annamalai for the Sun TV group with Radhika in the lead role, is expected to provide a new serial in place of Rajakumari.
The move to put an end to the serial Rajakumari it has been taken by the channel management in view of an assessment of the TRPs fetched by the serial.
Rajakumari is expected to come to a halt in May-end and the new serial by C J Baskar will commence in June first week, sources said. The new serial is likely to be produced by Vision Time (Ramamurthy).
Rajakumari is being telecast Mondays to Fridays from 8.30 to 9 p.m.
It has Ramya Krishnan, Geetha, Sarath Babu and others in the cast.
Produced by Srinivasa Visuals, the serial started on January 28, 2013, and has completed over 70 episodes.
C J Baskar is ready with the script for the new serial in place of Rajakumari, and this will occupy the prime band slot between 8.30 to 9 p.m., sources said.
