Surya TV is launching new reality show Malayalee House

Surya TV is launching a new reality show called Malayalee House that will go on air from May 5 between 8 p.m and 9 p.m. Actress Revathi has taken up the responsibility of anchoring Malayali House on Surya TV.

For the first time, we will have a reality show in this Lockdown Format. There will be 16 contestants who will participate in the show. They have to live together and learn to be a survivor. Every week one contestant will be eliminated from the show. The final winner will get a house. The entire show will be monitored by a camera 24X7.

The show will go on air from 5th May 2013 at 5:30 PM. There will be an introduction of the show in the first episode. The show is scheduled to be telecast between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. from 6th May onwards. The unseen scenes will be aired every night at 10.30 p.m.

Speaking to, Aldam Jacob, Non-Fiction Head, Surya TV, says, "This is a one-of-its-kind show, and has lots of interesting element for the viewers. We are sure this show is all set to rock the Kerala market and it's something new for the people of Kerala.”

The show will be featured on 16 Malayalees living under one roof.

The show will reflect the lives of residents from different walks of life who have come together with a dream of changing their lives in 100 days, said Aldam.  The residents are asked to converse only in Malayalam.

The show consists of 16 ‘residents’ who live together with the main intention of creating a home out of the space provided to them. At the start of the show, the residents move into a house wherein the courtyard and garden areas are the only areas open for use. As the weeks pass by, the residents must open out the remaining portions of the house, by evicting themselves unanimously with the help of a live audience who will enter the house to facilitate this process.

Aldam said Surya TV was happy and proud that national film award winner, actor and director, Revathy would host the show.

Popular stars from the Malayalam television and film fraternity would be the residents of the Malayalee House.

The resident who manages to balance life within the space provided and will win the series ‘Malayalee house’.

‘Malayalee House’ is set to be telecast on Surya TV from 5th May 2013.

The show will be on air Mon-Fri at 8 p.m. for an hour and at 10:30 p.m. for half an hour.

Malayalam TV has not seen a lock down show till date and we are sure will be a new experience for them.

Sun Network has as usual proved itself to be a pioneer in coming up with original content to engage its viewers with wholesome entertainment, said Aldam Jacob.
